RE-ZONING DENIED AGAIN 12-18-08

As you know, site rezoning and development was recommended for denial. [See PDF from City]

Tom Harrison and Curt Wilson spoke against rezoning and developing of the site in question on behalf of our neighborhood. One planning commission member (Stephen J. Davitt) recommended the site should be approved for rezoning and development. It is a good thing we had a grand total of 5 concerned neighbors there. (Yes, that was sarcastic - if we had no one there it is likely that this development could be approved. This issue tends to come around every 6 months - look for another run this spring around break time....)

I believe rezoning of this site would have been approved if Tom Harrison and Curt Wilson had not spoken against development of this property. This property could be recommended for approval if we do not have someone in attendance to speak on behalf of our neighborhood. If this is a situation that is important to our community, we should be organized and have more people involved before rezoning the property in questions is presented to the planning commission in the future.
